Carol maintains Capstone’s relationships with Investors and General Partners in the Northeast US. Carol joined Capstone as a Partner in March 2004. Previously, Carol had served as a member of the firm’s Advisory Board.
Carol has over 25 years experience in the investment industry, most recently as Senior Consultant of Stratford Advisory Group, Inc. where she advised clients and led private equity research.
Prior to Stratford, Carol served as Senior Vice President of Pilgrim Baxter & Associates. She was Managing Director of private equity advisory services; chaired the firm’s management committee with direct oversight of the investment, client service and marketing department; and, served as a member of the firm’s executive committee. Before joining Pilgrim Baxter, Carol was a Managing Director of Crossroads Investment Advisers, LP., where she led the capital raising of more than $300 million and completed various levels of due diligence on approximately 300 partnership investment opportunities encompassing domestic and foreign private equity offerings.
Carol began her investment career at William M. Mercer, Inc., where she held several different positions throughout her 20-year tenure with the company. Her last position, held almost 10 years, was Managing Director of the worldwide organization, where she provided investment consulting practice in Japan and supported the growth of investment consulting services in Canada, Australia, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore; and formalized alternative investment consulting services. She also supervised the development and delivery of the Mercer Study, “Key Terms and Conditions of Private Equity Partnerships”. This study was done for nine retirement systems representing over $500 billion in assets and has since been distributed worldwide.
Carol holds a BA in mathematics and education from Milligan College, an MS in mathematics from Oklahoma State University and has completed all course work and exams for her doctorate. She is a fellow of the society of Actuaries and member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
